Hey all! I'm a bit of a Buick nut, own a 1984 Century (50k original) and have had numerous Reatta's, FWD Riviera's, 77 Electra, a Grand National along with a 87 Regal t-top car, and a T-Type Lesabre. I have never owned any 60's Buicks until now, I have a 68 Riviera. Unfortunately, I'm off to a terrible start with Buick owners in Canada. I bought a factory radio from a fellow in Saskatchewan that didn't work (he guaranteed it did, oh well, it was only $50) I missed out on a parts car about an hour away after he sold it after I sent a deposit (got my $100 back but still...) because the next guy offered $200 more. And just today a fellow in Ontario with the rear 1/4 windows I so desperately need decided they we too rare to part with and decided to just keep them...he had a for sale ad up trying to sell them so I'm at a loss as to why someone would do this. It's difficult keeping these old cars going and finding rare parts when something breaks. Hoping this community will help me as I continue to get mine in good order. And if anyone out there has a rear 1/4 glass for a 68 Riv I'd love to talk! Here's a pic of my car. Been sitting since 1990 and is in very good shape. I think the X frame is so cool!
Hi, I’m in Edmonton Alberta and I have great connections for parts. I will send you a message with my phone number. Welcome!
Hi Capn Where abouts are you. There is a 68 in Lethbridge area for 750. The guy is clearing cars off his land. It has hens teeth disc brakes (would need to be surfaced) and is pretty rough, but the glass is there. It is rough though
Yes, I have made contact with him. It's tentatively sold so I,m crossing my fingers the deal falls apart. Thanks for the reply!
Also prairie piston, were the disk brakes rare? Mine has front disks but quite literally no interior options except cruise and tilt.
Welcome from Chicago! Lots of stand up guys here for parts and a wealth of knowledge graciously shared
Welcome, nice Riv! Where are you located? I'm in Wasaga Beach, Ontario. I have a 69 Riv and have a bunch of parts, no quarter glass though. I know a guy who does, he's out Putnam way but doesn't ship so you'd have to pick them up.
Thanks all for the reply’s! I’m in the Okanagan BC. Thanks to a tip from Sean 76 I found a gentleman with a 67 for parts only a hour away from me. I really didn’t realize my car had so many rare options, nice to know.
Yes Sean it was Cole. Super nice guy and a VERY interesting little junkyard. I’m also a square body guy so there was plenty to look at.
Where in Canada are you I live in Ontario Toronto to be exact and I have the same car would like to talk to you about restoring the one I have
