Now I have to figure out why my battery drained over night. Been pulling positive cable. Now that the ignition is fixed i left brand new batt. Hooked up over night. Was dead. Nothing seemed like it was left on Anyway I'm loving my car. I need to read more stuff on here. Learn more. Happy holidays yall
With the car off, disconnect the neg on the battery. Pull one fuse at a time and touch the negative cable to the battery. If you see a spark, it's not that circuit! Might work better in the dark. You are looking for a curcuit that is drawing power when the car is supposed to be off.
If it’s the regulator, buy the cheap $23 China one. I hate saying it but I went through two or three US made $60 units before trying the electronic one. Swap your cover on and you’re good to go. Patrick
Can the resistor "r" wire be unhooked from the starter? I'm running an HEI with a new wire straight to the ignition hot. Hoping to get my engine back in in the next week or so. Was going to leave this old coil wire off unless it effects something else.
It looks like Borg Warner is R400 and Wells and Duralast (Autozone) is VR715. I also see D9212 from Delco and as a cross reference. Looks like they’re +$30 now. It should be in the description as ‘solid state’ or ‘electronic’, and the cover will probably be low profile.
