Seems like everything OPGI has is back ordered. I ordered a patch panel in Dec. still on back order. Several interior piece on back order and now with the chinese virus it looks like it may be a long while.
My single Stage is smoother than Owl ****. To the touch. Extremely durable. Spray bombs . Are for Graffiti artists! Everything out there for trunks . when your finished looks like some hacker did it
The parts place paint, with the same part number as Zolatone which is no longer offered at zolatone for some strange reason
I used that stuff on Mike's X. Smells like wide open a$$ mixed with bubble gum. It gets the job done ok, though. The splatter is pretty fine, though.
It’s easy to apply Just spray it. In order to do what the factory did. Just pic (3) colors and spray at 15 psi. Holy **** this ain’t rocket science.
Did you guys notice the small red / blue stripe on the weatherstrip. On the assembly line that’s how they got the weatherstrip to meet equal on the bottom. Of course the assembly line guys did not care.
And don’t forget . The car color has to be sprayed first. speaker deck underneath trunk spring up arms and underside of Quarters need to be car color. Then trunk floor splatter paint comes almost up to the top
Search Trunk Paint . I tell you step by step. How to apply. And if i wanted to put a rubber Buick trunk mat in my trunk . I can promise you it won’t screw that paint up. like the other paint they sell you.
So i’ve been noticing this guy who restores 70-72 Olds 442. He was getting magazine coverage and Winning “Big Shows” with his cars. So when i find out who he is and i call him. I find out we are in the same Business. So i go on to tell him how much i love his cars. “That he restored” I ask him how he got his trunk refinished. He told me the process. And goes on to tell me what paint he used. He also is a”Rep” for the paint . Witch at the time was “ICI” I was lil excited. Because i’ve been using that paint for 35 years. Not only that. He told me how he painted his Spectacular Red 442. SINGLE stage. He said on the last coat of color he mixed clear with the color 50/50. So that’s exactly what i did to my White stage1. And low and behold. I did not sand or rub my car. I did in fact wet sand car with 500 grit and reclear. Perfect and Dirt free. Moral of this story. When a “Painter” tells you how to paint. Better listen. His ideas and process is why my car is a show contender. Always ask Questions. Always
