Who cares? I care. Best news I've heard in weeks. Thanks for posting something positive with everything that's going on in the world today. Sounds good.
Thanks Paul! I agree, it was much needed and a welcome distraction. It was also the first time my dad worked on this car with me which was a cool experience. Up until this point, we have done every car in tandem. This has been my solo project. Hopefully we can get all the pro touring builds together at an event one day.
Louie, no autocross. Look me up I'll be there with my yellow X, I'm sure the only pro-touring X there. Looking forward to the Nationals! hope to see you there.
That's great. My father was my teacher when it came to mechanics. His friend Ken VanByssum was my auto body idol. They were great guys and worked at the same Buick dealership. He always helped my friends and I with their cars even though he wasn't into hot rods. That's why I'm building the red car. In memory of my father and brother. Who loved Gran Sports. At least my brother did. It was the 70 Stage1 convertible dad brought home from the dealership that got us hooked. I've had some fast cars and have come around from that to something I could drive everywhere instead of spending large amounts of cash to go fast. I wrecked my last procharged car and my friends all said "I hope you build another Buick". So here I am chasing parts again the same reason I raced other brands. I always think of my father when I'm in the garage. He was proud of me always saying I could build anything. He was the first to take me to the dragstrip. The first to shake his head when I brought another hot rod into the garage. The first to have me start up the cars for my uncles to hear. Cherish the time in your garage with your father not only is it bonding you might learn a thing or two. Enjoy the time with him. They are the best times.
I had a planned day off and decided to keep it with everything going on. I enjoyed a productive day. It now idles and most of the leaks are fixed. I had the girlfriend help bleed the brakes. They still don’t work. Once I get that figured out, I’ll get the car moving under it’s own power and pull it out for a few pictures. The lists are dwindling. It was time for a beer.
Ha! Thanks. Once the stance is fine tuned I’ll be ecstatic. Back on the ground today. No beer in the photo, but it was consumed behind the camera.
Just saw this thread...…. nice work! Love the car, the stance & the color!! My next build will be a good handling road car..... perhaps the 71 wagon I sold years ago. Still sitting in a warehouse just like the day it was put there.....IF he'll sell it back to me! LOL Keep up the good work!!
Took a break to start working on the garage, drywall was hung in the late 90s and never finished off. Hope to get back at the car this week after painting.
Lol I got into that Michelob stuff too Since my new diabetic diagnosis.... well said MUCH better than No beer lol.
thanks! The pro touring section has had a lot of progress completed lately with our builds and others lol
All the quarantine downtime is really letting us move forward, and I think more broadly more people are embracing it on the forum.
