hello, I was going to throw this into my scrap pile but wanted to see if anyone wants it. it had a small pinhole leak. I recall it was by the blue tape but not 100% sure as it’s been a few years since I replaced it. Pay for shipping and it’s yours. Thanks.
Is it the same for a 71 non A/C? If so, please put me in line until I can get a price for recoring it tomorrow. Radiator shops are closed today (Sun). Thank you, UticaGeoff
Geoff, I just had my local radiator guy recore an extra one I had for around $185. He used the good, U.S. made core as well from a supplier out of Lewiston, Maine. I can't imagine shipping would be too crazy and if your guy is too high, maybe you can ship it here and I'll take care of it? I researched pricing on a couple Buick Facebook pages and most people said they'd paid around $300. Let me know and here's mine - finished.
A repop from Ames is $79, but likely not USA made. I was going to contact Maine Radiator as I just found out the local radiator shop closed last spring. Let me think about it overnight. This is a job no one wants to do twice. UticaGeoff
Agreed! I'm told the problem with the repros is fitment in terms of the tubes coming through the firewall. I guess they're prone to leaking. Also, Maine radiator will be directing you to a local shop. They won't deal with us directly. Either way, let me know.
Sure. I had the same problem with the aftermarket ones too. HeartBeat City who deals primarily in Camaro’s sells a nice one for 70 chevelles (all copper) which I ended up using and the tubes were almost spot on. Fred: If Brett will sell me the repop he has (as discussed in our conversation), wovenweb can have your old one. Sorry for any trouble. UticaGeoff
I am using the brass copper one from Summit - see here: http://www.v8buick.com/index.php?threads/brass-copper-heater-cores-at-summit.327876/
Fred - shipping would be to zip code 78253, please let me know the shipping total and how to send funds to you.
