A few weeks back, @steve murray commented on this post and offered me the old 750 DP that was on the car below when I sold it to him back in 1999. I couldn't believe he still had it and jumped at the offer! This carb never ever gave me any problems and was rebuilt my senior year of high school by my mechanic friend. It was literally used on about a half dozen of my friends cars and finally mine. The "community Holley", if you will. I think it'll wake the car up a bit and I like the nostalgia factor. The rebuild kit will be here Monday. Stay "tuned".....
That's getting looked at and squared away locally very soon. I makes no sense to me to send it back to TX again and is beyond any warranty, anyway.
I'm looking forward to using both carbs. It'll be nice to have options. The Holley is getting rebuilt next week and if the weather ever breaks, I'll be able to try it out.
Wait...let me tell you a story. Once upon a time there was a 452.00 paperweight known as the Quadraturd...
I was able to enjoy what seems to be a very rare early spring morning running some errands - one of which included an inspection sticker. Lord Vader is all set for year number 48 of grocery gettin' and cruising!!
We have the antique plates but I like the YOM plate much better. They fall under the same guidelines, too.
Send your Sloan info to @Mike Trom and he'll hook you up. http://www.v8buick.com/index.php?threads/reproduction-window-stickers.186561/#post-1480648
