As for bumper brackets, I took the stock ones and we drilled large holes in them and milled slots to lighten. Have them weighing next to nothing, faster and cheaper. Jim N.
As for pulleys, made aluminum ones and made smaller for crank and large for alternator. Slowed it down = less hp robbed and lighter too. Jim N.
I got my car to 3075 #s and still have not touched doors and have stock fenders and stock glass. Jim N.
Something simple on my street car, I'm sure you guys have already done, an aluminum radiator, it felt like less than half the weight of my brass one.
I just added up all my weight savings, I am 250-260 lbs light and almost all in front with the farthest things back being lighter seats. Is there any reason to maybe get lighter front springs? I wonder especially because of jarring bumps and fiberglass fenders/hood.
I just cut the door beams out of mine, took out 40lbs Next project is engine crossmember. Has anyone Swiss cheesed the actual frame ? My cage is welded to the floor uf that matters. Should be ordering a glass deck lid soon since I can’t find one used ( out of shits and giggles, I looked into carbon fiber. Haha. Wayyy more than I’m willing to spend. I was prepared for 500$ ish range, nah more like close to Two Gs) I am stuck on whether to get another 71/72 glass bumper or change to the ft end to a 70(I picked up a 70 rr glass one at the Nats)
Anyone with a 3D printer want to make 70 headlight bezels? I think Buick owned stock in the diecast manufacturer.
