Hi everyone, Starting to get an itch again and was wondering if anyone was selling or knew of a nice 1977-1979 Pontiac Trans Am for sale for under $20,000 I'm particularly looking for a very nice driver with under 100,000 miles with automatic transmission that does not need paint - my favorite colors being red, blue, yellow, and black (no white or brown). Needs to have T-Tops and working air conditioning. Could have either the Pontiac 400 or the Olds 403. I saw one or two on ebay that I was interested in but wanted to check here as well.
Funny you should post that today - Yesterday there was a black "Smokey and the Bandit" driving around my neighborhood with the T-tops out. Never seen it before and he made like 6 laps past my house while I was digging .. and digging .. and digging a hole for a new tree. I'll keep an eye out for it if you remind me not to dig anymore holes, please ?
>>LOL Alan! Yeah, stop digging those holes. I'm off this week so my wife has me doing all sorts of spring cleaning yard work.
Fun cars. Had a 81 Turbo TA Bandit Edition back in the day. Sold it & now have the IROC. Good luck on your search Chris. For the money you are willing to spend you should be able to find a nice one with the options you want.
One of my favorite cars I had growing up was a 78' T/A Solar Gold with gold T-Tops, with highway gears and the poncho 400, it would go 140 and handled like a slot car. Fun cars!
>>That is sort of up in the air at the moment. Put my Buick in the for sale section for right now while I mull everything over.
Mine wouldnt work for you - AC is inoperative and it needs paint But I cant resist showing it off. 1979 SC car all solid. Original paint and decals redone interior except headliner Built the 403 with a cam and headers this winter and cleaned up the engine bay Ive got WS6 snowflakes being reconditioned Just got it fired up. need to put the pypes exhaust on and then I am driving! Great cars
My wife had a black & gold 79 when we first started dating. Hers had the black vinyl interior. I loved driving that car except when it was raining. The T-tops leaked and when you would open the door, all the water that collected around them would pour in your lap! My sister had a black & gold 77 with a 4 speed.
>>Hi. Just checked Philly Craigslist but didn't see any TA's that I was asking abouto No: I'm in Long Island, NY.

long island: http://longisland.craigslist.org/cto/4419909441.html Pulaski: http://syracuse.craigslist.org/cto/4397904298.html Sorry to keep bugging you but I love doing Craigslist searches for cars, especially with other people's money! When I saw you wanted to go thru a dealer in Florida, I said to myself there's gotta be more choices locally in the tri state area. I believe that between NYC and Philadelphia there had to be more Trans Ams and Iroc Z's per capita then anywhere else in the world! Rocky Balboa had a Trans Am.
Here's a few ....http://www.transamflorida.com/TRANSAMFORSALE.htm:cool: http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/carsforsale/pontiac/trans_am/1627328.html
Can you picture Chris donning a 70's porn stache, a red shirt and a cowboy hat? Or are you going to grow a mullet instead? I was at Great Neck Nissan last week. There was a treasure trove of 77-81 T/A's there under covers. Evidentally, the owner is big into T/A's. The owner of Performance auto in Bohemia has about 15 of them in his building. Half of them are TTA's. All have about 3" of dust and dirt on them. He's making his own barn finds
