I'm reading this and thinking that sounds an awful lot like my car...The Mojave Stage One! Because it is! So your dad's car is the sister car to mine, and from your pictures it explains a few things (assuming they were both built in Fremont on the same day) My car has a chrome grille and headlight bezels, and didnt have a Gran Sport emblem on the grille (I added it). It also has 455 emblems where it should have Stage1 emblems. I see your dad's car had the chrome headlight doors too.. Anyway, if mine still exists, yours can too. Good luck and keep searching...
That is awesome! If a person could find out what city it was registered then the hunt could get more detailed with maybe a wanted add in the paper or online... if a person had time they could even go to the town and try to track it down...
That's great news. I will see what i can come up with on the title number. I'm getting excited about this search again. Thank you ---------- Post added at 12:32 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:25 AM ---------- Yea it looks like they were built on the same day, and yes Dad's car did have chrome headlight doors. I'm really excited about this new info. I really hope it is still out there and I can find it. ---------- Post added at 12:38 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:32 AM ---------- Yes it is awesome news. I'm really excited about it. If I can get anywhere with the title number I will try to make a trip to where ever it is to see it and hopfully buy it if it is for sale.
Thank You. I have been trying to call Mr. Hickman for the past few day's but I'm not getting any answer, It just rings. I'm going to keep trying for a few more day's and if I still don't get any answer I'm going to send him a letter and hope he either calls me or writes back. Thank You All Again for all the help. ---------- Post added at 02:06 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:56 PM ---------- I've also tried Darnell Hickman to see if he might know Kevin but I'm not having any luck there either so I'll just keep trying. Thank You
I typed detroit into the search arae I came up with a number of different threads with peple living in Michigan. Maybe you can contact someone from a thread like this one http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.p...y-Reunion-at-Milan-May-11th&highlight=detroit and have them drive over for you. Just a thought. I really hope you can get it back that would be awesome, I loved to see what it looked like after all this time.
Thanks, I will see if I can get someone to take a look for me. I haven't got to try to contact him in the last week or so as my father inlaw has been very sick and is on his deathbed. If I can get someone to make contact with him I hope to be able to buy it back or at least get to see it again, but it couldn't have gone to a worse place To survive all the winters since the last time I saw it.
Well Mr. Hickman got my letter and gave me a call today. He say's he sold the car a couple years ago but he knows who he sold it too and thinks they still have it. He's going to run by the guy's place to make sure, and ask him if he wants to sell it. He said when he sold it that the engine was bad but the body was still in good shape.
Any new news? What a great thread. I'm sorry for all your losses in your family. I hope you reconnect with the car. Chris
No News, I haven't heard back from Mr.Hickman and he is not answering his phone. <input id="mac_address" type="hidden" value="">I don't know what else I can do now so I guess the search is over. Maybe I'll start looking for another car like it. Thanks for asking.<input id="mac_address" type="hidden" value="">
Here's one I found on craigslist today. The front end is off a 74. http://mankato.craigslist.org/cto/4544684698.html
I cannot believe you got so close and hit a brick wall. Don't give up now! Make yourself into a hemorrhoid to these people until they get back to you.
