So, not to Embarass the name of Buick, but, I went to the track yesterday and Dialed in a 12.77 (was very hot). I ran against a 17.58 Chevy Cruze (yes Chevy Cruze), and the car ran unexpectedly well and I ran a 12.64. I should of been on the brakes a bit when I saw the Cruze was 10 cars behind, but i din't. I got eliminated, so did I get beat by a Chevy Cruze or was it a rookie mistake? Both of these senerios are a bit embarassing! But the car ran great, can't wait for it to cool down as she likes the more milder climates!!!
You were beaten by the clock not what was in the other lane. I just hope the clock was a Rolex not a Timex
When your a fender ahead you should start to feather it so you dont break out.A car length is like a mile in a drag race.Learn to dial closer
I already got "the talk" from my buddies at the track. They wanted to know if my brakes worked.. Still had fun though!
Are you coming to Cecil in a week and half? You will post some good times there. It's a Buick day there,it should be a lot of fun.Bruno.
You didnt GET beat . You beat YOURSELF. Ive done it many times and kick myself every time I do it:rant: :spank:
This way a 20 second ride has a chance to beat you so it draws more competitors and more spectators and more money for the track. Unfortunately real racers pay the price. I would love to have a "competitors" night where track conditions were acceptable. The downside is when you show up in your 20 second ride there is practically no driving skill involved. Floor it at the last yellow and run consistent 20's all night regardless of atmospheric or track conditions. I on the other hand have to deal with all the water on the launch because everyone before me drove through it so you break stuff launching. Tired of hooking so inconsistently. I rarely go to test and tune anymore, if I do it is only on street tire so I don't have to worry about hooking hard. The last time I hooked great lifted the front tires about 2" off and then promptly hit a wet spot on the left drag radial. Car came down so hard it broke my glove box lock and then the right hit a wet spot and the car danced left and right. I ruined my posi, bailed and parked it, can't believe I did not break an axle.
