Good Morning, ALL. I have a question/small issue regarding my Holley 850; When I am cruising at 10-MPH/@ 1000-rpm ... when I stab the gas pedal to 3000-RPM, the Buick PULLS HARD/SPINS TIRES ... but 2-seconds later it almost shuts off/looses idle. It happened again yesterday near the garage. Why? Are my squirters too small (size 31 ... "11-Second-Steve" uses size 41)???
Just to clarify: the stalling occurs AFTER you have let off the gas and are decelerating, correct? It's not a case of good power for 2 seconds and then it acts like it runs out of gas while you are still flooring it? Running out of gas under acceleration can happen (acceleration pump/power valve problem), and so can running out when you hit the brakes, for different reasons (sloshing). And how are your floats and their settings?
Do you have jet extensions in the rear bowl? Can also happen with a high float level, and fuel comes out of the vent.
LARRY!!! "Always an Honor". I just called "11-Second-Steve" regarding finding out if I have jet extensions in the rear bowl; got his voicemail ... he'll call me back with that answer. It does happen ONLY when I come OFF the gas pedal after a 12-MPH roll in gear to 3500-RPM stab of the gas pedal. :3gears: ---------- Post added at 04:42 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:39 PM ---------- LMHO; "11-Second-Steve" is calling you in a few. ---------- Post added at 04:44 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:42 PM ---------- Yes-Sir; happen AFTER I have let off the gas/decelerating. Float levels are perfect. :TU: ---------- Post added at 04:44 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:44 PM ---------- Yes-Sir; happens AFTER I have let off the gas/decelerating. Steve just called me back; I will do as you suggested with the rubber vacuum hose tomorrow. I am supposed to meet up with "11-Second-Steve" on Saturday with the Stage-1 (if it doesn't rain) ... I'll know how it works then. :3gears:

If you are connecting the two vent tubes with a piece of hose, one way that I saw was to cut/drill a hole through your hose at the halfway point, so your air cleaner stud pokes up through the hose. That will hold the hose in place.
