Re:3spd and 2spd Console indicator lens Bill, the 3spd lenses are ready to ship! Please contact me for payment and shipping info. Thanks, Gary
Gary sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I got the package OK. I test fit the sider and it fits great. I test fit the lens and it fits great. Thanks Bill.
Bill, Thanks for letting me know the set arrived and you are happy with them. Paul I sent you an email regarding the lens.
This is a qiuck fix for the missing black strips that hold the slider in place. I used a 1/4 " irrigation tube from my garden sprinkler system, sliced it down the center and made the smaller nicks when mounting the tube over the tabs. The slider still slides with ease and there seems to be enough pressure from the tube to hold on. Simple and it does the job!! I will include the 2 pieces in the package if anyone needs them for no extra charge, but they will have to slice them up to fit.
I received my shifter bezel today and i would like one of the 3 speed lenses. I also have a question.....what goes behind the lens? It seems to me that there should be something dark behind there with a cut out that slides with the shifter handle to allow a light to shine through at night to indicate which gear has been selected. Excuse my ignorance i have had the console in the car for years but have never had the shifter bezel in there so i have no idea how it would be correctly assembled. Any and all help gladly received
There is a thin black strip of metal that goes behind the lens, you could probably use black tape if you don't have the strip. Do you have the blue housing that holds the light?? Also do you have the black slider strip for the shifter?? I can send pics of all of it, if you need.
I have the black slider strip for the shifter handle but i have nothing for the lens side of the bezel. Am i correct in thinking that there is something that illuminates the numbers to indicate which gear has been selected? Any pictures you can send would be great. My email is hrod@metrocast.net Thanks
Sorry i forgot to post when i received my lens with all the holiday stuff going on. It is a great piece, looks good, fits perfect and thanks for the tracing of the back up piece.:TU:
I've only done the 65-67 lenses because thats what I own, but let me look into it and see what I can come up with. Are the letters etched into the plastic or are they painted on?? I 've never seen one close up. If you want to send me more info about them you can, I would need more interest than just one to make it happen. Thanks
I would like to know if any of the guys interested in the Overdrive lens would still like one, I had a few people contact me about doing them so thought I would mention it here. What I would like to know also is the letters and numbers in the column P R N O 3 2 1 O would have a smaller D in it. Is this correct?? any response appreciated!! Thanks
