I am searching for a very clean rot free 69 skylark or GS convertible. Dont want to deal with any rust-rot issues unless very minor. Running or not, preferably a project car. Let me know of any leads. Thanks :TU: :TU:
Yes- we spoke several times. I think he needs to go to 'the enabler'- AKA: Crack spider (Chris). CJP- please find Mr Sobotka a 69 ragtop... :beers2:
Mike, From looking at your list of cars you need a 68 GS 350 manual trans I have for sale as for the 69 convert I have one that needs rear 1/4
1969 GS 400 vert. May be too rough but there are no pics in the ad and the price is not bad and it has a parts car: http://tulsa.craigslist.org/cto/2027454025.html
If Mr. Sobotka is turning he eye towards '69 rags its time for me to change my focus to something a little more obtuse... ... you may now find me on the boards for this car - Im out
Mike, I still have my 69 GS 400 4sp conv. Needs a full resto but I have all the original parts. Including a build sheet to prove the 4sp is original. Has some rust but not that bad. I have extra quarters, fender, etc. Pete (541) 281-5515
Hey Mike, hope all is well - Not sure about your budget, here are two cars on eBay which I thought were worth looking at; (both white in color). I think the Skylark looks better than the GS, but not sure. 1969 Buick Skylark Convertible looks real nice http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1969...1734019?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item41552aab83 1969 Buick GS 400 4 speed convertible - also nice http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Buic...2222315?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item230c6b6d6b Iggycat NJ Mike
What do you think its worth,George?,after you put about $15-20k in it to make it real nice, you'd have about a $45k numbers 4speed convert. Is a 69 4speed worth less than that?thanks gary
Gary- look at some of the cars that were posted on this board. 1. A numbers matching 4 speed ragtop- Trumpet Gold w/ black interior. Needed work BUT parts were included to repair- NO SALE at under 10K 2. A numbers matching 4 speed ragtop- Factory black with pearl interior, running/ driving... Solid 10 footer- NO SALE at UNDER 24K 3. A non-numbers 4 speed ragtop- out of CT- original trans- needed the usual- sold at around 3K. 4. Your 69 4 speed ragtop. It was well purchased for a fair price So, based on those numbers, his price is very high. Sorry- I go by what sells and what doesn't. Car #1 I think was a steal. Car #2 IS a steal- as I believe a quality frame off- then a BJ or RS auction it would bring REAL $$$$. The CT car-if you had the parts, was a steal....
Thanks for your input George,I didn't remember those examples ,looks like the stepchild cars still haven't been recognized regardless of their rarity. Yep mine was purchased right, but there is still much work to be done. gary
I scratch my head on why they are NOT recognized... Yes, the body style takes a little bit to get used to. However, big block Buick, 4 speed, drop top...o No: o No: o No: Oh well...
