We got everything we wanted done in the spring/summer/fall so now the whole winter is dedicated to my car. I spent 6 hours between friday and today organizing and cleaning our garage so we should be comfortable. Hoping for paint in Spring '11
Pull current motor, add windage tray, fix 2 burnt exhaust valves. Rebuild old motor now that I know what the problem was. Rebuild trans with a brake. Relocate rear control arm mounts add a HR bar. Finish tin and body work my tube chassis car. Then paint. Freshen up motor for the chassis car. That's what's on the list anyway.
Restoring (hopefully) all of these, plus a GS grille and a set of Lakewood ladder bars, and at least getting primer and bodywork done on my front fenders.
Clu 269 you have a killer artist, great looking rendering..so you goin with Forgestars? Can't wait for updates on Everyone's projects...btw I did brave the biting, cold wind and fired mine up for one of a handful of times in the last 2 years, basically stopped after Salem.
Yeah, It is a 350. No one makes a cool intake for a SBB so I figured if I wanted to go fast I would just make one. It started as a 340 Mopar Super Victor intake. Now it is a bunch of pieces. When I get some money and some time I will finish it up. Same goes for the motor.
Hey Michael - while you're at it change the yoke. I chased a vibration problem in my 12-bolt for a few years and it turned out to be a worn yoke where the driveshaft sits. ... as for me, I think it may finally be time to retire BigRed from the drag strip and put all the go-fast stuff in this
I will discuss my complete build at length. I am located in southern Michigan 26 miles from South Bend, In. The wheels are Rushforth Whiplash and are 19 x 8 front and 20 x 12 rear. <a href="http://s558.photobucket.com/albums/ss30/clu574/GSXMAX/?action=view&current=DSC00178.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i558.photobucket.com/albums/ss30/clu574/GSXMAX/DSC00178.jpg" border="0" alt="DSC00178"></a>
A good idea, but I did just replaced it. Last fall I had a drive shaft failure on the dyno. Tore the shaft in half at 5100 RPMs :eek2: It made a loud noise. Had to replace about everything from the transmission to the rear end.
I think I'm actually going to finish mine. Get the interior back in it, my other motor, and take care of some other necessities. Hopefully she will be complete when Norwalk comes around.:3gears:
Alan, that Sportwagon looks super nice. I sure wanted one of those. Or the convertible. Want to trade?
Thanks Mark - I was very lucky to find it ... or should I say lucky to have friends here on the board (Dana & Beth) who not only found it and did the deal for me but went wayyyy beyond that getting it into running condition and then stashing it for me until I could go and get it. Its in remarkably clean condition with only 29K original miles :Brow: Trade ? Hmmm ... looks like the vert is missing a few small bits. I could overlook most but from here it looks like the brass door rattle plate is missing and thats just a deal breaker uzzled: :TU:
