I had a '96 Imp SS that I was lucky enough to get Herb Adams bars for. But it was a major PIA as HA at that time at least was run by his son, Matt Adams, and he was good at making and breaking promises. Most of the Impala guys started buying H.O. bars which are basically the same design, although I don't see them listed anymore (possible I just can't find the site). Here are some other possibilities: http://www.bmrsuspension.com/index.cfm?page=products&vehicleid=14&maincatid=43 http://www.hotchkis.net/search.html?Make=5&Model=1261&SubmitForm=Search It looks like Herb Adams still exists, so you could call them and see if they are still making an A-body rear arm (and what the lead time is!): Herb Adams Vse Inc 23865 Fairfield Place Carmel, CA 93923-9435 (831) 372-0944
H.O. is still around. I've got their web site bookmarked on the laptop, but not here at the office. I'll post it later tonight when I get home. Their bars are 1-3/8" front and rear. I've got a set going on my car, and they're HEAVY.
not s herb bat but i do have a Brand new hr parts in stuff 1.25 rear bar....hollow tube. asking 490 _ s/h
The HA bar (for the Impala, at least) was straight across with no forms except the 90 degree turns at each end for mounting to the lower control arms. It looked more like a carrier landing hook than anything! And yes it did weigh close to a ton. The front bar used Heim joints instead of the traditional bushing linkage, so there was zero give up and down. That Impala cornered like it was on rails with great steering balance!
Here's the link to the H.O. Racing site. The bars are about half-way down the page. http://hoenterprises.com/WSFF/home.asp?vCompID=27383
Let me check to see if its a bar for a 72 I bought it and never tried to mount it but it looks just the same size and shape as the GM NOS bar I have other than being huge in diameter
I have the complete H-O racing set up on my car with the large sway bars, springs poly bushings and 77 Camaro spindles with disc brakes. This car handles like a new Camaro. I did this set up back in 1989.
Following up on a possible Herb Adams rear sway bar (1.5") for a '71 Chevelle. A list member said they might have one for sale? Thanks!
