did a little computer searchin' - found a nice string of hotels off #65 going up #231 , i think it was , into the city area from the southeast direction . goes towards the convention center and a big (?) mall right close and a string of decent sounding hotels etc right before the mall , looks like a few blocks away maybe . thats all i know so far . could probably call COC too i guess . any info/input appreciated . thanks . del
Some of us Chicagoland folks stay at the Holiday Inn/University Plaza, adjacent to the convention center. Definitely upscale, with a nice restaurant and a bar. Plus we do have parking lot partying going on most nights. So I would definitely recommend this for you two. A bunch of restaurants are within walking distance, and the mall is down the street. So I think the wife would enjoy it. Just my .02, lol! Take care, Shari
I would love to take the Wagon down, But the end of Oct we can get 6" of white crap. I don't want to drive the wagon through that. Tim
When I talked wit Richard in may he said that they for several years had considered moving it to October and they now probaly would do it, because the weather is good in Oct. there.
I will definatley be there as its only about a hour and a half ride for me. I go every year in May and usually wind up running for shelter from the rain. I hope everyone decides to come I think it should be nice weather in October and maybe if the leaves hang around that long some of the out of towners will get to see some of the nice fall colors of Kentucky.
I found this over at their website. Under general race rules. "7. All drivers must be current GSCA members. Cars must be owned by current GSCA members." Here is a link: http://buickgsclubofamerica.yuku.com/topic/1979 Maybe the rules have been changed.
My wife and I will be down in the Nashville area the weekend before the nationals and plan to be in the area for 9 days. Call it a late vacation.
