Just wondering what kind of plugs you have tried and what you found works. I have always used NGK standard plugs, but want to try their race plugs. Instead oF BP6ES use BP6EV plugs.:idea2:
I have run everything no difference with big ignition, i run champion in my gas cars and ngk in my alcohol cars. because the champion coating is to hard and wont burn so i cant read them in an alky motor
uzzled: No one try iridium, platinum tip, fine tip, V-grooves, racing plugs with fine tip grounds etc??????? Not just a different brand. o No:
I've never found plug brand or type to make much difference. As long as you have a good strong spark, it's going to get the job done. The fancy plugs with four side electrodes and the like, they are just marketing gimmicks. Electricity will always take the path of least resistance, so it will go to the closest prong, even if the difference in distance from one to another is virtually immeasurable.
:3gears: I was thinking more for an aluminum head race motor, say 700+ horse on pump gas. I never had problems with <600 horse iron heads and different plugs-other than wrong heat ranges. TA recommends NGK BP6ES-BP8ES. BP7EV is the racing equivalent of the BP7ES according to the charts, I might just try them on the dyno after breakin.:beer
Oops they don't list anything colder than the BP6EV, so I'll have to try another # if I need colder than a 6.
R5724-8 or colder (9,10) for race plugs, R5724 doesn't go hotter than an 8. Can't find a 7 yet. Anyone tried these. Cancel the above, I got the wrong plugs in the box. Get back to you soon.
