... AND I NEED TO KNOW IF IT'S DAMAGED???:eek2: I AM IN THE WINDOW WAITING FOR FED-EX TO DELIVER MY Strange Super-Duty Steel TH400 Transmission Yoke (STR-U1650 $56.95) DUSTING OFF THE GN D-SHAFT ... AND NOTICED (arrow) THIS IN THE PIC I ATTACHED!!ray: PLEASE GIVE THE "411.":eek2: Thanks much.
It looks like the only damage is to the u-joint cup which will be replaced when you install the the new yoke with a new u-joint. I would also replace the u- joint on the other end as well. Bill Macoubrie
X2. Looks like the cup took the hit, probably not the ear of the driveshaft. Clean everything up really well after the old u-joints are out and inspect for anything out of the ordinary. Devon
I hope so, Devon. Any place I can get a pic of the shaft's ear online? I tried Google for 1 hour and found no shots of the shaft's ear. Thanks much.

It only needs a $3.00 cap. Thank you, Brian Weaver Gbodyparts.com (252) 825 3293 7207 Main St. Bethel,NC. 27812 http://gbodyparts.com/ I had a feeling the shaft I bought from Brian came off a Buick GN that saw track-duty (by the shaft safety-loop grind area:TU:.) So-Far-So-Good. PS ... I CALLED DAN SMITH TWICE TODAY AND TEXTED ONCE REGARDING PICKING UP MY 1973 BUICK 455 MOTOR FROM HIM AS SCHEDULED SATURDAY, APRIL 3RD ... with no response. Devon; Have you had an engine builder postpone your picking up your motor ... twice in a row??? (I am a lil stressed here ... I was supposed to pick it up in Camden today ... called/texted engine builder 2 times yesterday ... with not 1 reply yet.):af:
Will do ... next week Friday is my next day off ... as a matter of fact, I am going with the guy (pick-up truck service that transport motors) in case it is ready. That's my plan if I hear nothing from Dan before Friday.ou: Thanks.
Is this the same engine you were having D&S do for you that you posted about last October? I sure hope not...that's a long time to wait. And as I posted before, when you get it back it needs to be torn down and inspected based on this fine example of their work: http://www.turbobuicks.com/forums/m...iation-magna/82402-you-have-got-s-ing-me.html I couldn't believe my eyes when I first read about that mess. Devon
Yes it is (lol ... it was my not having the $$$ till earlier this year). I called "Tyrone" that does transmissions here in Brooklyn (he already built my short TH400) a few minutes ago, and he stated that most engine builders postpone like that ... including his engine builder. Scotty at Pee-Gee's had my motor done, covered in transparent plastic with a tag on it with my name ... before I had the balance for him:beer. I remember the Turbo-6 D&S blunder a while back. I guess that's why by instinct I reached out to you. Thanks for the FYI ... again.
Re: My Buick GN Driveshaft ... HELP!!! (new pics) ... Today I took the GN drive-shaft to KM Driveline, in Brooklyn. There, for $98 they replaced the original worn u-joints with Spicer U-joints ... solid at rear end, greasable at tranny end. They also installed the Spicer TH400 short-yoke I bought from Summit and balanced the shaft.:TU: I GET MY 1973 Buick 462 from D&S (along with my 1973 Buick 455 4-bbl Rochester rebuilt/re-jetted, 2800-stall converter, and re-curved 1974 Buick 455 HEI alleged Tuesday, May 11th, 2010.ou: BUCKLE-UP!:TU:
