Hi Okay, so I had plans on the Rally wheels for my 68 Riv. until I got my wheels and got the Riviera Review issue of the identification for the wheels. So I check my 4 wheels and found. They were all different codes. All 15x6 with 5 on 5. 1 had a 2 1/8 inch hole for the centre cap while 3 others had the 2" hole. However all of them had different codes. 1 wheel had 853 on it 1 was not stamped (had Z1 23B) 1 had m1 11 24 WK 1 Had 6 JJ m4 What should I do????? Will they fit on the Riviera? I need opinions. In the issue it says "certain wheels should not be used because of lack of register between the wheel and the wheel hub and a different backspace.
I think they are usable, I can take some pictures another day and post them. I mean if they fit on mine, I will use them. But I don't really want to mix and match.
Mike pm me your email address and I will send you the rally wheel guide from the Buick Club Magazine and it has every rally made and id codes and backspace etc. Gary
I've got Gary's guide saved(thanks Gary),it is very informative.I wonder if it could be made a sticky on this forum, good info.
I have a copy of the article from Gary and it is most informative - the latest issue of the ROA Riview (Nov./Dec.) also has a very good 2 page article on full size '64-'78 chrome road wheels - I'll try a scan when time permits. :TU:
Ya, I got both from the email and the Review issue. But it says something about backspacing. I don't want to mix and match the wheels
