I was just thinking of the possibility of switching my power tailgate window for a manual window. Has anyone done it? Is it difficult ? Tim
Just thinking not going to do it. I just need to get mine working. The glass is manual right now. Have a piece of metal holding it closed. My Sat project. Tim
Me two sort of, I used them hose clamps with the big thumb screws. I got two on each rod on each side of the glass. They hold the window up in place just fine and I can let it down when needed. what does your motor look like?
I haven't got it out yet. I took it down and vacuumed all the crap and crud out of the bottom of the gate. Now I have a clean place to work. Tim
here is mine, where it mounts and such looked easy to run a shaft thorgh its body to crank that metal gear, making it manual. Always did suck any time I used it for camping not being able to get it down from the inside back there. http://buickthunder.com/wm1.jpg http://buickthunder.com/wm2.jpg http://buickthunder.com/wm3.jpg
Well, I am on break from working on it. Got everything running just need to get some bolts for the window tracks. It was just a broken wire at the edge of the gate. A old repair gone bad, did a temporary fix because my cordless solding iron isn't working right. I should have power back glass soon. I how ever had to by pass the latch safety to ge it working. Tim
