I have a 455 buick motor and th400 still attached. It only has 64,000 miles on both, complete with powersteering pump, alternator, fan, pulleys. Motor and trans worked great when pulled! Everything there except the carb Don't remember the exact year it is, but the block casting # is 1241735<!-- / message --><!-- sig --> $400 located in NW Iowa <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->
Man oh man thats a freagin bargain!! Good thing you ain't in my neighborhood. I'd have to have it.( I have issues ):Brow:
PM's sent, will try to find code by manifold, i'm not that familiar with code locations on buicks, more of a poncho fan:moonu:
Is the t-400 a short shaft, or long shaft? If you're not sure, what car did this setup come out of? I'm in North west missouri, and definitely interested.
came out of a fullsize 74-76 buick, not sure on exact year. Engine Code stamping or head casting # would be very helpful here. there's a big difference between the 1974 closed chamber head and the 75-76 opens.
I still can't find the engine code stamping, is it under the a/c brackets or alt? I took the valve cover off and the number thats on the head is: 1246322
I still can't find the engine code stamping a 350 has it between the #1 and #3 spark plugs on the block deck. a big block should be stamped between #5 and #7. it's probably dirty and will need to be cleaned off to read. http://www.buicks.net/shop/reference/engine_ident_where.html
