My favorite car and color? Here it is, but I'd rather have a 300 horsepower 327, backed by a 4 speed and a 4.56 posi. :Brow: Couldn't find a good picture, so here's a video instead. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q3heIZ3PHq0 It's a Honduras Maroon 62 Bel Air 2 door hardtop by the way. Thanks Donny, a Corvette wouldn't be too bad either.....
Sorry, John, I forgot you could get the 327 in a full size car in 1962 for my mistake, I went ahead an up-options your car :Brow:
I absolutely love 62-63 Impalas with 327's. Sweet combination with even a 3 speed stick. But....here's my vote on the favorite color (I have many, but this is numero Uno.) Olds called it Ocean Turquoise, Chevy called it tropical turquoise, both Buick and Pontiac had it, too. Mahoney's Firebird that Tieman just did is also this one year only color. Drove the color coordinators between Fisher body (where the bodies were painted) and the Olds paint plant (where they painted the front clips). The color varied from day to day, but they did their best to keep the same on a particular car. One day it looked green, next day it looked blue. Very hard to match on touchups.
I had a 70 Sport Satellite in this color... I'm pretty sure its Burnt Orange Metallic (or is it Burnt Tan Metallic... dammit!) You know, memory is a funny thing... look at this: ... 1970 colors... 8 is Burnt Tan Metallic and 14 is Burnt Orange... I'm thinking my Satellite was Burnt Tan Metallic, which might not even match the photo above which looks more like the Burnt Orange Metallic... Let's try this... Ahhh that's the stuff. Burnt Tan, my favorite
I know this is probably too obvious... Black and Gold (I was 10 when the '77s were new... and I was very impressionable)
1963 Chevy II, El Rusto (my first car... probably looks like this now) and if I had my way... It'd look like this... some sort of blue...
