:moonu: I allready have the 69 linkage as well as the 70-72 linkage w/backdrive and just a Cutlass handle for now....and I didn't pay an artificially inflated price....:bla: :bla: :bla: :bla: :bla: :bla:
Yeah Alan It's a lot of stuff.....and it's 69 only.... I wouldn't even consider it if it wasn't a factory car....:TU:
Geo.....HELL... I'm sick of all of them...but...I'm feeling good and looking forward to doing some wrenching this year.... I'm way behind.... :Brow: congrats on the new baby :beer
Thanks! I am also partial to 68 Oldmobiles as well. :Brow: . I pulled out one of my 'shelved' paperbacks to read and a set of photos fell out of a 68 Hurst Olds I was looking at buying a few years ago. It shared a hanger with a pale yellow 68 ram rod. Think the price was $25K for the H/O....
So if you already have everything you need why are you always here whining about how you can't find the right stuff.o No: When you decide to actually buy the CORRECT Buick handle then you can tell me what I paid was inflated. But it seems you need a quick math lesson. We'll just deal with 70-72 stuff since the 69 stuff is made of unobtanium. 70-72 repop correctly plated linkage. $230 Garrison stuff: reverse lockout rod(unplated, mine is plated) $29 reverse bracket(unplated, mine is plated) $35 reverse bracket stud(""" "" "") $12 Total without shipping is $305 So that means I paid $195 shipped for a correct Buick shifter and handle. If you think you can find one for under that then I guess I got screwed. But I doubt that will happen.:TU: Yes this thread has been officially hijacked.:beers2:
Its definately a factory 400 4-speed with correct 3.42 posi rear - its probably a Stage1 after speaking with the owner from the early 80's. I dont know what I want to do with this car ... maybe I should just sell it to Geo... and buy Dave Thumas's SportWagon :idea2:
are you 100% sure you would be willing to sale your 69?? if so, is it numbers matching? how are the floor boards? rockers? quarter panles? has it been repainted? if so how much body work? any bondo or glass? after posting the parts in the junk yard someone from the borad has showed me a lot of:dollar: :dollar:
It's not what your looking for......:bglasses: but you can come over and check it out and BS a little when the weather gets better....:idea2:
Alan is your trans an m20 or a m21? We know most were built with m21's but there have been a few that were built with m20's.
Definately M21 although the #'s piece is gone ... Came with a freshly rebuilt M21 but its dated for a '67. Also came with about the nicest consolette (with beautiful tach) that I've ever seen Seeing as its doubly a bastard stepchild (69 with missing drivetrain) I may just end up putting BigRed's motor in it and take it out for some SERIOUS beatings at the track
Don't be too discouraged with the #'s thing. Very few cars make it this far with all their parts intact. It being a factory 4speed is a pretty big deal even if the right parts are not there and are hard to come by. Hope the pics I sent helped you out.:beers2:
Man,did this thread ever get off track, anyway,I'm still waiting to hear from Mr. 67GS for a time and place to meet to go look at this "treasure trove" of 70 stage1's.???? gary
I know the Cleveland area was hammered with snow but is there any update on the 3 Stg 1 junkyard cars?
