Never heard a complaint about ACC! :TU: The only disclaimer is if you have an A-body 4-spd car, order the auto trans carpet as the manual trans carpet has too big of a form for the shift hump.
"The only disclaimer is if you have an A-body 4-spd car, order the auto trans carpet as the manual trans carpet has too big of a form for the shift hump." Ken, That is if you have a Buick A-body 4-spd car. Duane
I will second that. ACC used a HUMVEE drive tunnel as the mold to make the 4 speed carpet for a 70 4 speed Buick.
I'm sorry Duane, I guess I'm confused, wasn't BUICK the only A-body made? You mean there were others?  I hadn't heard that. Isn't Buick the only division of GM besides GMC trucks?
Same carpet for an Olds also----you could crawl in the space between the carpet and the tunnel and take a nice warm nap..4 speed carpet.
I am installing carpet in my 72 GS from OPGI. They had it in stock and shipping was free because of my order being more than 300 or 400 bucks. Anyway, I like the loop, but like mentioned above, the area over the tunnel is way too big. How do you go about fixing that?
Never mind -- I had the wife do it. She said it was just like hanging wallpaper, another task which she accels at and I suck at. The biggest issue seemed to be the placement of the attached backing - it was too far back which gave the illusion that you had to have the front carpet too far forward, making the hump appear too big. She trimmed several inches off the backing so the carpet could be moved rearward and the remaining backing fit nicely in the floor pan.
Just went to ACCs site - I can't believe their price is like double what their own carpet sells for thru Summit. 68-72 2 door auto goes for $205.06 in their own catalog. Page 13 http://www.accmats.com/Downloads/Content/ACC_2008_Price_Catalog.pdf
