7041242 Service Replacement Carburetor with a manufacture date of 1509 indicating 150th day of 1979. This was removed from a 1971 Buick GS 455 in 2000 that I purchased (and drove back to Canada from Kentucky, with this carb on it), rebuilt using an over the counter rebuild kit (ie no machining, just clean it up and put the new stuff in), and put away for the last 20 years in a humidity controlled home, hoping for a future day which never arrived. As far as I can tell the motor was rebuilt at some time, and a service replacement carb was installed, likely sometime in the 80s. This is a true Stage 1 carb as the secondary enrichment circuit exiting BELOW the secondary air valves, unlike the standard units which exited ABOVE the secondary air valves. I'm a Buick guy but I don't have a real 1971 Stage 1 - so this needs to go to a good home where it will be appreciated. Looking for $1000, shipping will be additional from Canada which is where the item is located. Will be shipped via USPS (via Canada Post). If you want more photos or any questions answered please ask!
New Price: $600 plus shipping. Needs to find a new home where it is appreciated. Good to know there are a few out there. Not sure what this is worth but clearly my initial price was too high. This is a good unit even if it is a service replacement. Did some investigation and shipping isn't too bad... from here to California (about as far as you can get) would be $50... Any questions or if someone wants more pics let me know. Ian 71 Stage 1 convertible (clone)
SOLD. Thanks to everyone for helping out! Stay tuned! Clearing out more stuff that has been sitting for 20+ years.
