Putting a '62 401 in my 55 Special

    Gary, I’m not following ya on the U joints...not looking for an argument either!

    The torque tube and Dynaflow would be gone, as would the original rear end and suspension. Go ahead and use an Olds rear end. Or a Jag, Chevy, Ford. Keep brake choices in mind Whatever suspension - Olds parallel leafs are fine, or 4bar or I beam truck arm. Just build a driveshaft with the correct slip yolk for a Buick nailhead 400 and a U joint for whatever rear end you use. Thats it.

    I was referring to the FIRST post about u-joints and the difficulty fitting different year dynaflow tranny tail shafts to a 55 Special torque tube shaft. I've been there.
