Hey guys I just bought a dominator Spx intake was curious to see if any of you have pics of how you worked the plenum , thanks in advance for any replies ...
For the best results on a Intake the Plenum rework needs to complement the Carb and whatever spacer you may be running. What are you using, or will be using in that regard if not a Dominator? Just to generalize some rework look at the lead in radius from the Carb mounting pad into the top of each runner. If your going to run any type of spacer then use that combined added height of that spacer and what meat is there in the Intake to grind in a greater radius/ transition from your now higher Carb pad into the roof of each runner.
That's alot of work down in there. Almost too pretty for no one to see. Too bad the intakes were not clear
I have some pics of my sp2 as well. I had to cut more of the clover leaf out to be able to run my 110mm sv1. I used a 464 as a gauge to fit
wow that some nice work ! very nice thanks for the pics I was wondering how far one could go and now I have an idea >>>
NickBuickGS looks like very different intake than briz and bens. Almost like a victor series edelbrock.
Nick's is a spx.......mine and briz are sp2. That spx almost looks like it was 4150 base that was opened up to a 4500 openering
My friends old KB Wildcat Cool Runner intake. Don't know anything about it except he left is sitting in my garage, after he moved on to Super Stock Hemi's. Not sure if the images will show up below. Tommy
Sorry for the late reply, but no, it is still not my intake to sell. I have just been baby sitting it for the last 10+ years, along with some of his other Buick stuff. Tommy
I have 2 wildcats. One has been ported and the other is brand new in the box.Neither one looks like the one in your pic .Your plenum looks different .Mine were both machined for dominator new.Maybe they took a square bore intake and machined them for a dominator and then put the carb mounting holes in afterwards.
