Whenever I get stuck at a portion of a project on the car, I like to switch gears and focus on small part restoration. It’s usually the quickest way to instant satisfaction.
Darron, I used a champion brand called American Eagle. This rad was brought up several times on the board as being a cost effective but good quality piece: https://www.championradiators.com/product/AE161 Agreed Jim, but I don’t think there’s is a solution right now. I’m using a short water pump with the correct ‘70 pulleys. Hopefully it will be fine with everything being brand new.
Can you trim the shroud? It may not be an issue, but I imagine your not going to take it easy on this car, being purpose built. Jim
A common theme with my projects is that they always get delayed. Here are the most recent pictures. Building cars that are “not stock” is fun, but the little nuances of getting everything to line up is a PITA. This project will be going on hold until fall. I am closing on my first house next week that has a nice 25x32 detached shop. I’ll be in home improvement and move in mode for the foreseeable future. I need to bleed the brakes and get fluids in everything, but it is really close to firing off.
Nice, congrats on your purchase of a new garage. Oh , and the house too! Good luck with the move......Jim
great job! I love the car has no emblems, very clean look. Awesome, sure be nice to have all the PT Buicks in one place at the same time event.
Count me in! Although to be honest I kinda like being the only Buick in a sea of Chevelles and Camaros. All great cars and impressive builds, but no thanks, not for me. For those in the Milwaukee area, tomorrow (Sat 8/10) is the Cream City All-Buick show at Matty's Bar & Grill in New Berlin. Hope to see some of the local guys
Thanks Jim. I don’t even tell people about the house! That would be a great time. I think they did an autocross at the GS nats a couple of years ago. Not sure how popular it was though?
The car made the trip to its new home a few weeks back. Some miscellaneous updates. The shelves have a few interesting pieces. My dad also got me a killer deal on a new tool box to go along with the 30 year old snap on box I currently have. Hope to get some work done on the car over the holiday.
@breakinbuick11 Awesome work, really great part selection, and I really see the vision with the car! best of luck to you with your next steps on the engine build!
Louie you seem to be doing well and congrats on your home and you’ll enjoy that really nice workshop. Keep plugging away on the beautiful resto mod. I love that color and if I would ever paint the Street Sleeper, it would be the Aquamist...
Thanks! I just came across your thread and look forward to reading through it. Thanks MarkO. The house has been awesome, but all the spare car money keeps disappearing as I take on more home projects. The street sleeper’s drivetrain and fuel systems would be right at home in my car!
I had the “Scranton Buick” dealer sticker reproduced off of an original paint car I once owned that is now owned by another board member. I also had my custom Stage2R stickers made up. I will cut these out and put them on each side of the hood scoop.
