In-pieces '71 custom *PICS* I bought the car to use the frame and disc brakes. I have to unload some cars to get another one I really want. The car is still on the trailer from when I picked it up for $500. I've seen the disc brake setups going for $2-350. The car is "complete" in that there is a huge pile of parts on the trailer. I'll take some pics this weekend, but all I want is $200 for the whole thing. It is located in New Boston, TX 75570. Sorry about the through-glass pics, but it's not on a car hauler so I cannot open the doors. The engine and transmission are there in the car. I did pick out the core support to determine if it is salvageable. If it isn't bought/picked up in the next month, I'm going to pick a few parts out of the pile for my '70 then roll this one to the scrapper
I would like to have the '71 grill and trim.It looks like there are 2 grills or parts there of. I'll take both. How much do you want ? Dewey
Re: In-pieces '71 custom *PICS* Hi Theree Have you time to take off some parts and ship them.?? I could use the drip ledge mouldings, wheel mouldings , and hidden wiper setup. Also, How is the rear bumper. I need one for a 70 and understand it is different because of the filler tube to the gas tank but if at least driver quality I'd find a way to make it work.Mine is toast and mangled.Imagine shipping would be Lotza bucks!! thnks in Advance Ed
Re: In-pieces '71 custom *PICS* The problem with parting the car out is location. It is at my family's place that is 3 hours away from me. I have too many other things going on and cannot get there very often. I will, however, be there next weekend. I'll have a little time to pull some parts, so please PM me with requests and offers. The rear bumper looks like it was in a fender bender. I will check it out and see if it's worth using. You are correct about the filler neck, but I wouldn't be able to tell first hand. My '70 there in the background has a '71 rear bumper, but it was installed prior to me purchasing the car. If I start parting the car out, I will make separate ads in the For Sale section. I started the post here because I felt that $200 was a really good deal on the whole car.
I was thinking about using them on my '70 . But I will let you know. Do you need one side in particular?
I will have to check into that! I did a map quest on your location, too far from me - you are way over near Arkaksas! if you were closer to El Paso, I would drive over for it. I'll have to pass, thanx anyway.
Mark, I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to use the headlight bezels. The ones from my '70 were damaged in the wreck. Lotus, I found the complete heads, but they are rusted tight and very heavy. If they're worth the shipping to you, send me a PM so we can work on that. I pulled the driver's side inner fender, passenger side fender/hood spring, door sills, 350 exhaust manifolds and grill from the car this weekend. Next Saturday I'm pulling the doors and a/c dash pad. After that, the car will be offered for free. The disc brake setup will still be on the car.
Man if I had a trailer I would have started driving your way 5 minutes after you posted this! :3gears:
