I went to the strip yesterday and I am pleased with my results.
    My set up is 72 Skylark convertible, 350 .30 over, GS112, 10.25-1 pistons, headers, T/A intake with 750 quadrajet, making 368 hp with 400lbs torque. TH400 S/P 3,000 high stall. 3.08 posi.

Flowmaster 2 1/2" exhaust with 30 series mufflers.
    295/50 rear tires

All times are in street trim.
My first run was with my stock intake and a pretty soft launch to avoid frying my tires.
    14.10 at 95.47, 60ft 2.022, 1/8 mile9.009 at 77.05mph
I was pleased at this first run.
I made a one more run to get a base time.
I then changed my cast iron intake to the T/A.
    First run 14.152 at 95.39 mph. 2.047 60' time
    Second run 14.295 at 93.4 2.031 60' time
My next three runs I changed my timing back and forth running a little slower due to getting a little warmer out 82 degrees my times were 14.484, 14.467,14.432.
I then entered the bracket races and I dialed in a 14.45 figuring I can always put the brakes on!
The car sat about 30 minutes bfore my next race so was cooler. I was up against a carthat dialed in at 12.55.
I had a great launch and was running strong and I was ahead by three car lengths so I hit the brakes and finished ahead of him.
I thought I was in the second round until I saw my time slip, I ran a 14.076 at 93.13 with my brakes on!!!!
    I had a 1.999 60' time.
I would have broken into the 13's had I not slammed on the brakes!!!
As for the T/A vs stock I like the 40lbs difference but as far as performance goes they are almost identical!
I feel that with slicks I would have been ran 13.9's and withopen headers would dip into the 13.7's.
Not bad for a 350 Buick pushing a 3,800lb car!

    Good times!

What are the specs on the GS112 vs. the GS114?

    Tim,

What were your shift points on your runs?

We're heading down to Rock Falls Sept 24th for a Musclecar Shootout day. I've never been there before, how's the track and how strict was tech?

Are you going to the BBQ in Lakeville on Septh 10th? I plan on driving the California down! :3gears:

    Shift points were 5,500-5,700rpm's.
I left the car in second gear twice through the traps but that slowed me down a little.
I am getting some slicks and exhaust cut outs for next time.
I was planning on hitting Rock Falls on 9/10 but since that is the party I will plan on going the 24th same day as you.
So I will see you on the 10th.
The track is good, tech is no problem...He looked under my hood and around the car for maybe 10 seconds...
I know I will be in the 13's without exhaust and wheel spin!

I guess I found my answer here. I see here he had a 308 posi. I was wondering why it had stayed in the 14's I was running a 373 gear with about the same horse. Mine is reversed on torque and horse. 390 horse and 373 torque with my set up and I had run a best of 13.31 at 99mph. I had used a nice loose 3500 stall then, could foot brake it to 3000 rpm.

Any changes take place since then on the car? It has been a while, I know it is still running it's a 350, "Strong as Bull":Brow:

My cam was a bit much for the 3.08 gears and if I kept the car I would have re-cammed it.
