Feel free to ask questions if have any, thanks for viewing $750
There's many things I wouldn't buy NOS and these are some of them. For starters: putting them on a steelie, you have a 25% chance of damaging the thin metal they're made of. Secondly, I can't tell you how many dings and scratches mine have after 7 years of driving, albeit seasonal. Thirdly: $750 is ridiculous and money that can be spent somewhere else, yielding better results. My set was very close to NOS, devoid of any visible dents or scratches. Not so much anymore.
Of all my used ones I call the ones with only damage on the edges from being removed over the years “my nice ones” haha.
Only for a concours/trailered show car & IMHO not an unreasonable price in that case. I have a very nice set I'd sell for half that. Back in the day we'd buy 'em at the swap meets for $20-25/set & out of a set might get 1 perfect one.
The $750 asking price could just be the starting point of a negotiation and the seller might bite on a legitimate offer for a lower amount. Sure $750 is not pocket change but I had to pay $450 to get a NOS set in 2011. When I account for inflation, that's $620.82 in 2024 money. So, this is really only $105 more than I had to pay in 2011 (for perspective, I had to pay $116 last night for a large tank of 93 octane gas at Costco).
I just bought a set for NOS dog dish caps for 450. 00 for my 73 Stage 1 that I’m doing a frame off restoration on
Fair price for 550 considering if you bought some used ones and had to take them in to polish and take the dings out would add a couple hundred in my area. CA is greatly inflated tho
