I am looking to buy new rockerarms to my 350 GS engine but in Summit I only see rocker arms right, is there difference between right and left I thought both sides was the same rockerarms? Or is tthe two sides different B. Johansson
The stock type stamped steel rocker arms were produced in LH + RH and some companies made them where they were all the same. Try Rockauto They used to stock both L&R. Try to find Sealed Power R869/870
When standing over the fender and looking down at the rocker arms, the "L" rocker arm is to the left of the rocker shaft bolt, and the "R" is to the right of the bolt. https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/buick,1970,gs,5.7l+350cid+v8,1379684,engine,rocker+arm,5656
Yes there’s a right and left and that’s at the valve not the sides of engine. There are also different rockers for 1968-1969 vs 1970 -1980. Since you didn’t mention year of engine. And they don’t swap without changing lifters and pushrods. Best place is to check ta performance for rockers then .
Correct! Not many make clear the R/L designation on the rocker arms. The R/L designation is in reference to the offset of the pushrod seat
The last time I bought some of these, parts shops had lots of one side and none of the other. Had a heck of a time finding the side I was missing. Was the same with valves, lot of exhaust but no intake (or vise versa). I think the warehouses have almost exhausted their supply.
That’s how they (warehouses) ran out of a particular side customer states “ I need rocker arms for the right side of my engine”
