It did the same thing with my old 15" Cooper Cobras. I bought a digital angle finder today and my pinion angle needs work, to say the least...
I got Ta no-hop bars, Hellwig anti sway bar, Viking double adjustable shocks. Start by reading the instructions on shock adjustment and go from there. I'm at 3 clicks down and 8 clicks up. The TA bars are shorter than the Edelbrock and Lakewood, which is good for a BBB. Del A Lum front a-frame bushings removed all the friction and deflection of front end and the front lifts quickly. Leaves hard and launches straight. 1.62 consistent 60 ft with a little c118 cam.
I see you have it fixed with with the adjustable uppers. Good. No hop bars would completely eliminate wheel hop as well. Had a set but changed them out when I went with a 9” narrowed ford ladder bar suspension. And still can’t find my old no hop bars… but hey did the trick. Plus changed pinion angle for better weight transfer. Must have sold them years ago…adjustable uppers do the same thing. Changes pinion angle.
Looks that way, yeah. We got the pinion angle where it needed to be after installing the adjustables and took it for a shakedown. Needless to say, I'm happy that's no longer an issue. I mean, what fun is a big block, 4-speed car if you can't let it rip every once in a while?
Both units Change the instint center for better weight transfer as well. Or better said to plant the tires into the ground. Chris Alston Chassis Works explained it very well. Get his book on it or his CD ON IT.
