As you can see it is not an AC Delco, but it is old, it is made in the USA, it did work, came up off my points and condenser distributor that I took off of my 350 before I put a TA HEI distributor in it. Your call.
Not that this helps but I have the LL set up and use a Standard UC12 coil that I got from Roc auto and have never had any stalling issues.
Dang Ray, it is so old I can’t even find any information on it on the Internet. I can tell you it’s a racing coil. I say that because I lent it to John Everett 1 million years ago at Bowling Green. His coil burned up because he left his ignition on. He was going to do an exhibition blast with his nail head nitromethane dragster. So I lent him the one off of my car. So it is both a regular Gran Sport coil and a dragster coil. PS, we also drove my car all the way back home from Bowling Green to South Florida. So it is also a heavy duty coil.
Well dang Ray, I didn’t say this was brand new OEM stuff. LMAO! I can attest that it works good, at least it did when I took it out, and I can mail it to you tomorrow.
I'm beginning to think unless a pretty high HP/high rpm application that good ol' points weren't so bad after all. There was a thread last year that got me thinking about it & even JW said the same. I picked a couple sets of older (NOS) Delco-Remy points at the Nationals just in case & have a new set of Standard (Blue streak) from back in the '80's in my parts stash.
Like John said that's my coil. Yes it worked in 2008. Thanks for that John. I have heard of the finicky coil issue before. Give it a shot and I will look to see if I have a 70 coil here on the shelf.

I will mail it for free. I don’t care. I would like it back in case I ever go on a trip in my ATI fails. But like Rich said, you could always give it back in Auburndale.
What I said is that anyone with a high performance engine, should be using an aftermarket CD box (MSD) for clean idle and easy starts. They could even use a points distributor to trigger it... I once had the opportunity to switch from the old Stinger setup, to an MSD 6AL, in the car, without touching the distributor/timing.. so it was a true multi spark vs single spark test.. difference was dramatic, actually had to turn the idle screw to get it back to the desired idle speed, after switching to the CD box. IN a GS, remove the driver side wheelhouse, and hide the box beside the the factory fusebox.. Totally hidden, yet you can still access the chip... I have done this job at least half a dozen times in 70-72 GS's, total time is about 2-3 hours. JW
I went through a couple NAPA coils before a board member sold me a 50 year old 247 Delco that tested fine. Going on a year with no issues. They pop up on eBay once in a while but it's hit or miss because most sellers won't test them before listing.
If you have to rely on a 50 y.o. coil to make your car run right, the problem isn't the coil, it's the ignition system. Move over Petronix, LL is joining you in the dung pile..
