No traction issues....i did'nt drop the clutch at a ridiculous RPM when i took off.....just enough to keep it from bogging down. I am pretty sure that it has 3:42's but not sure about the posi.....Jason could take a look at the fill plug on the center section and see if there is a tag..... Peace WildBill
Tear down day was today after work. The usual stuff.....needs a master, all 4 wheel cylinders are frozen. Flex lines are trash, and it needs three steel lines bent up. Good news is that all 4 drums are near new. One measured 12.00, two were at .010 over and one was .030. So plenty of meat for a cut. The shoes are in great shape incredibly. Everything was available thru rock auto. Tires are sitting in a pile waiting on Eric to pick up. As usual, I'm hampered by waiting on parts Side note- it's got a set of vintage glass packs on it. I cannot wait to hear this thing!
Not to hijack, but I saw a '62 Wildcat today at 26th and Kipling today here in Lakewood, CO. Beautiful white car, it pulled into the bar there on the SW corner of that intersecti0n by the Ace Hardware. Is this a members ride?
Vacuumed it out. I couldn't take all the crap, debris and old soda cans in it. Looks remarkably better. Too dark out for pics but I'll update you guys tomorrow .
It would fit but just barely. I have a concrete pad behind my garage and a rear door on my garage. So I can close the front garage door and work on it with the rear door open and no one is the wiser. Plus it keeps the property values up!
I'm trying to picture it in my head. So that loooong shifter only came back a few inches and stayed in the forward position in all gears?
Because of the clutch linkage you couldn't get power brakes. IF you wanted to with todays options I'm sure it could be added. Tom T.
Looks like every line in the car needs to be replaced. The line going from the block to the rear flex line was a real PITA. Single flared and made of copper. The goal today is to finish up all the line bending. Incredibly, all the parts showed up yesterday. We just might be doing burnouts by next weekend!
