Any body no how many 70 gs 350 4 speed with air cars were made ? a friend just picked one up was wondering how rare it is
Nice! Details? That's probably my favorite GS configuration. This isn't the one Chris just got is it? Came out of MI. Not many w/AC.
I meant the '70 350-4sp. part! Yea, I like the low option GSs - Oddball, lighter/faster, easier to restore, & were typically special ordered for one reason. I guess a loaded GS (or a Riv GS) would be neat to have someday but I'd want it to have everything, lol. My old '66 Riv. GS I think had every option avail. exc. 2x4's. Should've kept it. Wound up in your neck of the woods back in the late 80's.
What state did your friend get it from? I saw one I was thinking about and wondering if it's still there haha.. thanks
358 according to Steven Dove's book. And 353 in 1972 from the same source. Or we could just use Dano's memory, he was right there in the ballpark.
I’ve located a 71, it’s black with a black interior. I don’t know if it has AC or not, I’m waiting for the owner to invite me over to look at it.
Jason (@buick64203) had a Black '71 (may or may not have been black when he had it). It wound up in VA & was for sale in the past 1-2 years. Can't remember if it had a black interior. Very few 350 4-sp cars seem to have survived & most that did were either converted to 455 or are basket cases like mine. My last one was the most fun GS I've ever owned. The biggest issue is that Buick under-geared them. The '70s had 3.23 which was marginal w/the M-21 but in '71-2 they went with 3.08's which just don’t work. Should've been 3.42 for all years. Mine has an SCO 3.64 and basically zero options so was probably quite quick back in the day.
For which year, Wally? And which color are you interested in? Not sure if what I have will answer your questions but I’ll try.
Only because I'm kinda tuned into the 350 4-sp stuff, lol. Back around '86-87 there was a beautiful Hunter Green/Saddle buckets '72 350 4-sp that was at the Nationals. Have wondered what ever happened to that one.
Wally, the 209 number Roberta provided is correct for ‘70 GS 350 w/ac. There is no further breakdown by color.
