I'm one of those weirdos that detests ac in a classic car. It clutters up the engine compartment and adds weight. Couple years ago I bought an extremely solid 66 Special with one flaw.. it had A/C. After disassembling the front clip for an engine swap I decided to see if a factory looking conversion to non AC was doable. Tell me what you think of the end result.
Everything looks good... Although I think pic #3 should be left open For the floor vents. Its nice on those hot days having the cooler air circulate..
I know with later cars 68-72 interior vents are different. Not sure on your year. Looks good to me what you did. I won’t even consider AC in an old car anymore. Nothing but trouble. I’ve set up friends cars that had AC and causes nothing but cursing. Good work.
FWIW he posted it for free on the Portland Craigslist for quite some time. if he posted it here I don’t know for sure but I think he did.
Yeah, I had it on Craigslist for a while for free but no takers. Same went for the complete functional California smog stuff. Didn't want to mess with shipping so it all ended up in the scrap dumpster at work.
