The trunk of my 72 GS keeps dripping grease and keeps melting out ever since I bought it 3 years ago. I have no idea how to get rid of it, it just drips out of the trunk holes endlessly in the heat. If anyone faced a similar issue with a fix, let me know or I might have to replace the trunk.
Some kind of rust preventative treatment maybe? I would plug the holes with a rubber or plastic plug. You could even paint them white. I think they might sell plugs like that in the HELP section, or Home Depot, Lowes? https://www.lowes.com/pl/Hole-plugs-Specialty-hardware-Hardware/4294711044
I'm sure someone thought it was a great idea to rustproof the interior of the deck lid. Looks like it was not. That will take a bit to clean up, not sure it can be.
Looks like it. Not sure if it can be me cleaned up either, I tried that, but seems like theres a ton of it that keeps seeping down when its hot.
Crazy hot in summer, but in winter it actually gets pretty cold and the car doesn’t like it either. Winter nights could go around sub zero temps and currently in Summer its about 50 degrees Celsius!!
Canadian's love there "Fluid Film". I use it on daily drivers here in MI, it works. The stuff you see is not the same. Leave it in the sun and drip away. You would think it would stop eventually.
It’s been going on forever for 3 yrs now. It’s getting pretty annoying that I just want to get a new trunk lid instead. When I bought the car, it was in NY. Maybe they love that stuff there.
