Jenna lives near Gettysburg, Pennsylvania and she’s become a good friend of mine over the past few years. She bought this car that was setup as a drag car, with little thought to street use. She purchased it with a very strong modified 455, built TH-350, and built 3.73 12 bolt. She has been working out the bugs, getting it street friendly, and making it her own. When she grew up her late father was always wrenching on his GTO and GM trucks so she came by it honestly. She isn’t on here often so I thought I would share her progress. She’s had the engine out, cleaned up, new gaskets, valve covers etc. It’s back on the road and her skills and confidence are rising very fast! She’s now hitting the car shows and putting miles on this beast!
There is another young lady that races a yellow Buick at the GS National ‘s, I think her whole family races. Can’t think of her name right now but, she deserves some props as well! My daughter wants to get into racing. Hoping she is able to do like some of these other women.
Mike, I'm not familiar with Emelia, but I think you may have her(?) confused with "Sarah-n-tuned". There was a fun thread on another forum (which you are a member of ) about that one. Anyway, back tot he important topic, GOOD ON JENNA! Nice to see the car getting put on the street and enjoyed.
You beat me to it Shawn. Thanks for the correction anyway. I don’t remember that other thread. And you are correct. Back on topic. We saw the girl racing the yellow car at the Nats. I kept telling my daughter to go say hi, but she was too shy.
Are there any posts that don't start an argument? This started as a nice post about a young lady into cars, and goes south in a hurry, personally I'm getting sick of it. When a web site loses it's appeal it's probably time to move on. There are a lot of great people on here but they are getting out numbered! Bob H.
Good to see young ladies w cool cars. I know if I die. Mine go to 2 nieces. Already know who gets what. Drag racing shows the women compete and often beat the men. Pretty cool. Only sport I know of that this happens. And Ive personally experienced it on 10.0 index and bracket racing.
Thank you sean!!!! I appreciate you posting this. The car is getting there little by little. Hoping to get her to a drag strip this year just have a couple more things to fix up. Then hopefully next year I will pull her apart again for body work and paint her . The car has been a work in progress to make her both street and track friendly
The girl in the yellow car in BG is Jerry Chambers daughter, who I believe is only about 17 years old (give or take a year/two). Jerry drives the Skyhawk named SuperDog. Congrats Jenna. I’ve seen the pics you post on FB and have always admired your Buick passion!
Good to see that younger people are still getting into old Buicks, there's hope for our hobby yet! Good work Jenna!
Welcome Jenna. It great to see you doing what you like. Congrats to your parents for allowing you to experience the whole world and decide what you like. Keep doing what you enjoy there is no reason not to. Good Luck with your car. Jim
