I read (I think in the GSXtra), that there will be both 400 point (concourse) and 100 point judging. So, how does the 100 point judging class differ from concourse?
The conourse is more for a 100 percent resto(or as close as humanly possible). If it were me and I had a fresh correct resto put her in the 400 pt show.Older resto or really nice driver,or something with less correct parts, tires ,exhaust etc. 100 pt. Whichever you choose its great to see them all in the show field.
The Concourse cars are really scrutinized when they are being judged. We look for all kinds of correct painting, brackets, stickers, tags, etc. The 100 point cars are not looked at that closely. Duane
Curious if you publish the 400 point judging criteria &/or do entrants who are judged get a copy of the judging sheet or just a list of what points were deducted for?
I'm on my phone which is usually not a problem but it opens & then immediately closes a new window. Will try on my laptop. Thanks!
Historically I believe Sid and Belva mail a copy of the Concours judging sheets to the owners. I do not believe the show people do that for the other classes, but you would have to ask them. The rules will show the point deductions for the various areas but will not state anything beyond that. Also, I am not sure if any other group besides the GSCA is currently mailing out copies of the judging sheets. The BCA might be doing it, but the AACA certainly does not. Duane PS, I just looked at the handbook at that is the one I put together in 1999. Ah the good all days.
BCA only mails a copy of the judging sheet if you request it...and provide a self addressed stamped envelope. But the 2019 BCA nats I was able to get a pdf emailed to me...which was nice.
GSCA/aka Sid and Belva have emailed me the judging sheet from the 2 |GS Nationals that I had the car judged.
Kind of related to this thread. Assuming two cars are being judged in the Concourse class. Both are equally restored to the same level, but one is a much older restoration, which is showing its age. Question is, can both cars be awarded the same score, or does the older resto lose points because of signs of wear?
If you send Karen a letter/ request and SASE she will send a copy of the judging sheet for the regular car show.
It's a pdf file. You need a reader like Adobe or Foxit reader. Once it opens, you can view/save it or print it out.
I have several readers on my phone - Worked today! Still didn't offer me the option to open w/Adobe but at least it opened!
