Thank You! I got some big things coming! First package showed up yesterday I just haven't had a chance to go through it yet.
Had some free time today so I figured I'd do some prep work. Still missing the rear swaybar, apparently its stuck in Cali because of the fires. Tonight I basically sprayed all the bolts down with bg spray. And cleaned up some spots. I plan to tackle it this weekend. Then I'll really start to basterdize the car as some would put it with the next set of mods.
I was originally going to attach the ends and leave the schrader valve beneath the fuel level sender wire. But decided it would be a pain in the ass to crawl down to check/fill. So I played with the line length to get some ideas.
Previous owner said he replaced the stock rear springs with some from an Electra for extra height. The front have a spacer for the same reason. This is where its at now with 90lbs of air. I still got 30lbs to play with but I think its right where I want it. Going to do some measurements for clearances in the back hint hint wink wink. And you guys weren't kidding when ya said the ride would be bouncy. Lol I've been bottoming out the seat at just about every bump in the road.
Im thinking of dropping it just a tad but its got that rake. Hopefully this week I can tackle the next mod. I have to do some minor fab work but nothing serious.
Is it easy to fill the car with gas after you ran the lines through the license plate? Car looks great!
And thats as far as I got. I got to checking the rotor on the wheel and the studs don't center up. Wrong rotor I guess. What sucks is they clearly state that refunds or exchanges must be done with in 5 days of delivery. This kits been sitting in my shop for over a month because of my work schedule. I called and left a message, hopefully they work with me.
Issue resolved, awesome company to work with. Parts are on the way. Basically today I broke down the driver side front brake assembly and cleaned up the spindle. I'm going to do a final cleaning tomorrow then prep and paint it like I did the other side. I cleaned up the firewall area behind the booster and my OCD kicked in so I ended up cleaning the complete firewall. Looks like tomorrow im going to be making brake lines for both sides. Mainly to accommodate the line lock and pressure adjuster valve. Nothing I can't handle. The return hose for the steering box is in the way. I plan on bending the steel part of the line at an angle with a bender to clear the new m/c.
I lack 1 more line. The one that exists the pressure adjuster valve and connects to the rear brakes. I spent a good 2hrs mocking, checking and measuring. Tomorrow I'm going to attempt to make it and if I'm successful break it all down to do more cleaning and painting.
And its done! I removed everything again so I can drill and mount the line lock cylinder properly. Also going to prep and paint some stuff and hopefully do the final install Sunday. Unless the paint dries early tomorrow. So glad it went smoothly.
All that's left to do is bleed and check for any leaks. Then start dialing in the rear brake pressure adjuster.
