Ivd meant to mention that above. So rare to see a '68-69 where the rear bumper looks like it fits correctly. They look really good when they do.
I think @Daves69 owes us a few spring pics? Hopefully, over the winter the packrat didn't show up with a court order to return his home! We need a status update on the engine and wiring
I have been collecting and restoring parts for the car. Bumpers are done. Sourced a correct carburetor and had it restored. Engine turns now but still has a tight spot. Don't want to try to get it running and damage something. Wiring will be replaced with new. I have all new interior. Been paying forward my labor for my top and seats with interior guy. Removed the 4 speed and was set to deliver it to Dennis at the Charlotte Auto Fair, Then this pandemic happened. Getting the chrome ready to send out next.
Call me a goof but i think I would like Verde Green! Burgundy is a great choice though. I look forward to seeing your progress. Ted
Dave, Looking forward to more pictures as well! Are you going with Legendary for the interior? I'll be replacing mine shortly and was looking for recommendations on both price and quality. Cheers, Mike
OK, You guys want to see some progress pics, well here are pics of some parts I am sending Dave next week. Below are some pics of the Chassis Stickers I put together for his car. This is not some "generic set" but is for the actual parts that were installed on his car. Enjoy. Duane
Here are some pics of Dave's 69 Gs Hood Insulation, with 2 pics of them installed on my car. When I was putting a set together for my car I realized the center piece was moving around all over the place. I dug out my original center piece and saw it was around 1" thick. They made this thicker to fill up the area due to the raised hood section in the middle of the hood. The 69 set has the larger hole in the middle. I am also including 3 pics of the 70-72 style hood insulation (with the smaller hole) as a reference. Later, I will advertise them for sale, once I figure out how much more material/time they take to make. Anyway, enjoy. Duane
Thanks Duane. Guys nothing has changed with the body of the car. I have slowly been getting major components done. Trying to get some of the expensive things done and paid for. Rather than sending everything out at one time, and getting large bills. Transmission and shifter were shipped to Dennis for rebuild and replating.
Mike, Purchased the interior from Legendary. I have some work to do on the seat frames along with purchasing the trim bits. My interior guy is ready to get started on the seats. We have agreed to trade out labor. He has a 57 Chevy that has been parked since 1971. Has been a lot of work and I finished the front suspension today. Ted, Verde Green is OK but I am not a green car person. I don't think the second owner liked the green either. He had the car painted like it is now, six months after he purchased it. Dave
Been working on the grille, along with a couple others. Final epoxy primed, ready for paint. Purchased another parts car for the patch panels I need. Have been cutting it up. Have a real clean 69 frame (not convertible).
If you happen to need a trunk floor, I have an extremely nice one with good drops (ea. needs a very small repair) & could probably even squeeze some inner wheelhouse patches out of it.
