Not a buick, but never seen one of these. Cheap way into the car hobby, you'll be the only one at the car shows with one of these. https://www.kijiji.ca/v-classic-cars/calgary/1962-pontiac/1461392750 Make Pontiac Model Tempest Trim Lemans Body Type Coupe (2 door) Year 1962 Transmission Automatic Colour Red Kilometers 54,000 Drivetrain Rear-wheel drive (RWD) No. of Doors 2 No. of Seats 4 Description 1962 Pontiac Tempest Lemans two door coupe. 195 monitor Half of a 389, appraise at 15000. Guy I work with has one fully restored (added dual exhaust tips) that his Dad bought new, very cool and unique cars:
Rope drive, slant 4 as stated. Cool looking cars. If you want to be motivated to buy one look up the 62 tempest called Swiss cheese.
A customer of mine has mention to me several times over the years of having had one of those that they raced back in the late 60s and had a ported `69 RAIV head on it. He still has the head but not the car or the rest of the engine. Can't remember what he said it ran. Probably 1/2 of what a 389 would have ran
Really a rare car, probably count on one hand how many I have seen in the last 40 plus years at shows. Condition/price looks interesting. It also has the LeMans trim package
They are interesting cars; I looked at one a few years back and almost bought it were it not for the fact that it is slower than the second coming. These are cute cars; they don't handle bad for the day, but are really hindered with that 1/2 of 389 and an automatic. This would not do well in modern traffic.
