Hey all, I live in the desert SW and I'm running a TH 400 and for the sake of cooling was wondering which routing would be better, to run the coolant lines through the radiator before the remote cooler or after? Winter warm up is not a issue. Thanks, Keith
If winter driving isn’t a concern, you could eliminate the radiator cooler and use a external cooler. Just make sure the cooler is big enough. The radiator cooler helps keep the trans fluid warm in the winter. Additional useless info: the 4L60/4L60E and 200R4 transmissions severely restrict to cooler flow when the converter locks up. They do that due to almost zero heat buildup in the fluid with no converter slippage. The non lockup valve that is installed in the pump when installing a non-lock up converter ensures proper cooler glow.
