Hi all, Since a lot of you in the Northern Hemisphere are prepping for Winter and wont be able to race, thought I might start a thread where you can share your PBs along with videos and slips showing your achievements. - Buick powered cars only
So I will start. Car weighs 3300lb, no cage or transbrake, 555cui, dynoed at 923hp 835ft/lb 1/8 mile PB - 60ft 1.35 - 660ft 6.150 @ 113mph 1/4 mile PB - 60ft 1.45 - 660ft 6.35 @ 112 - 1320ft 9.8 @ 139 Didnt get the 9.8 run. This one shows a bad stumble off the line which we are rectifying
This is my personal best in my 87 Regal. It's a 3100 pound back halved car with a bored and stroked 523" iron block that's filled and girdled. It's car 160V on the right of the time slip. It's a fresh combo and every time I've raced it this year it's gotten faster. Looking forward to next year!! I don't have any videos of the above run but this one was posted from the Buick Bash at Quaker Valley Dragway back on June 14th.
11.57@119.. 1.68 60'.. have to get that to the 1.60 range. Not bad for a jackass with a 4 speed. Edit- also pinging off the rev limiter for the last 50' or so..
Left lane....with 3.90 gears (now 3.50)...in the cat....with a breaking yoke on rear vibrating my eyeballs....next pass it broke it at the line thankfully....but then car ran over me rolling off trailer....and the rest is history 3300lbs, 464 inch, TA Stg 1 SE
1.484. 60 ft 6.843. 1/8 mile 100.90 mph 10.848 1/4 mile 121.41 mph Not in your level but still fun to drive. With power steering of course.
I used my head....as a chock for the slick....coilover on my chest and sharp exhaust on my leg. Got the car stopped tho....
Every time I hear this story I chuckle to myself. It's not that I think it's funny, so glad you're ok Bruce! With all of the crap that I've been through and the stuff that has happened to me I just can't believe this didn't happen to me. Had to be a sight to see that's for sure...
Yeah Phil....after that excitement my girlfriend never went to the track again....too much for her....now she dates a guy with one car (Hyundai) and no garage
I have a video and also time slips,unfortunately,I don't know how to put them here.The car is back halved,weights just over 3000 pds with driver,so its 2.850.The best time for my race car? 2018 GS Nationals,it went 9.04 and 147 1/2 mph.S-2 heads,stock block and crank,494 ci,short time a lousy 1.29 on the back wheels.On th 1/8 it did 5.7 and 120 mph. The block is filled,with a girdle.On that day,it actually went 9.13,then 9.06,and then 904.Fairly consistent,all the time.Bruno.
