Continuing to cull the herd, already sold the 71 cortez gold 71, 85 S10 is currently for sale, next is our 1971 GS 455, it is a #'s matching car, it is currently pro-charged, the #'s motor and trans sitting in the corner. All other removed parts are also saved. The motor is a 462, 8.9 compression, BME rods, Diamond pistons, girdle, TA intake, custom streetable ground cam for boost, currently 7 psi, have pully for more, internal balance, roller rockers, BHJ balancer ,SFI flexplate, oiling mods, TA front cover, TA starter, programmable MSD ignition, includes laptop and program, procharger with inter cooler, wastegate, etc. adj. fuel regulator as boost is applied, I built this right with longevity in mind for me personally. Car has 12 bolt with 4.10 heavy duty posi, aftermarket axels, disc brakes all the way around, TH400 trans built for racing, trans brake ,if needed, but totally streetable, roll cage meeting IHRA specs with swing out bars, HD aftermarket drive shaft, HR rear suspension, large fuel cell for street driving, high volume rear mounted fuel pump with by-pass, shut off switch, exhaust system, paint and body are in excellent condition, interior is very good, small tear in driver bucket seat, tilt wheel, 8 track player.I'm sure I'm forgetting something so please ask. On a chassis dyno the engine made 520hp with 5 psi, thats 660 hp at the flywheel, ran high 10's on a slick track last August, with 7 psi should be at least low 10's and drive anywhere. Didn't intend to sell her when we built it, but getting older and too many cars. $43,500. anyone thats built a similar engine knows what it takes, and I have way more than that in the total package, plus its a #'s 71 GS455. There may be one of the other cars for sale later this year.
I have seen the car. It is a totally awesome ride. I would love to own this unique and numbers matching ride, but i already spent my allotment on a motor, which Gary built . Gary, Good Luck with the Sale
Actually Procharged 455's are rather easy to drive. The nature of the power curve makes for easy throttle control. But when you go deep in the throttle it is a different world.
Doug,as known,I've driven some pretty fast cars, low 9's at 150,and on the street this car is scary even for me. It just never levels out like a NA car.
Ah man ... I’ve seen this car in person and it’s great. Sorry to hear you are selling it, but someone will be getting an awesome ride for sure. I’ve purchased a car from Gary and he’s an honest and straight up guy. It was a pleasure dealing with him. Good Luck Gary .... as much as I’d love to have this car the timing is off a little bit. Pete.
Hey Pete, thanks. Hows the 71 doing? I miss it,but it has a good home. I'm sure it gets a lot of attention, stay safe out there.
Ha Ha, actually I don't know now if I want to sell it, been driving it to some cruises and car shows and believe I'll regret it. So streetable but scary when I lean into it. Sandy yelled at me because I didn't warn her when I did.lol
We need to get the Procharged street Buicks together. Always to damned busy. At this point you have the only unbroken one. Bobb's needs a refresh and I am waiting for my D-1 to get back from a trip to Iowa. Mine feels so slow without the blower!
John Jr's is running again. Just ran it at yellowbullet nationals last weekend. Detuned running 9:96@139. Ready for 10.00 class. Hoping for 8 second pass at BG. Weights 4000lb
any walk around video of this car running available?? Does it have original sheet metal and interior ?? JM
Almost sure the sheet metal is original and interior is original, has a small seam separation in driver bucket seat, other seats are nice. I'll do a walk around this weekend. I'm on the fence at this time though.
