The club I belong to met another chapter at Lakeridge winery in Clermont Florida today and we had three nice Buick’s present, my 90 Reatta, a 91 Reatta and a beautiful 70 Riv Along with about 13 other collector cars
Hopefully you were “ trying” to be funny(which it wasn't) but sad if you were not and didn't Know what they are
Lighten up, dude. Folks call my Buick a Chevy all the time,..or an Oldsmobile, or a Pontiac. Some even call it a Mopar because of the stripe. I don't take offence. At least they acknowledged it. Not everyone knows what your exact mindset is, or how hardcore you are into a particular model. Generally speaking though, it does kinda look like an rx7 of the same vintage, My brother had three of them.
Keith, They aren't idiots, they are just "not in the know". Very few folks know what a Reatta is, let alone have seen one before. Even us Buick guys rarely see one nor are they sought after. Glad you can find an underdog, like it, and stick up for it, though! Kinda the mindset of most Buick owners. Peace
Actually there is a strong market for the "right" Reatta's and in comparison to many cars of their era they actually have a better following and prices, you may be surprised to know there is a strong club following and also a large FB group dedicated to the Reatta. You may actually be surprised at what lower mileage or rare colored convertibles are bringing today. There are documented sales in the low $20K range, that doesn't sound like not sought after numbers to me
At a quick look yes.. Seeing that I did not know buick made a regatta Spell check is not letting me spell out the buick name of that car.
The Reatta was made from 1988-1991, with just under 22,000 built, convertibles make a fraction of that number at around 2300 sold to the public. Convertibles were built in 90 & 91, They were Buick's most expensive offering with the convertibles selling at $37,000 (the cost of a new Cadillac Fleetwood) They were hand built at the GM Craft Center. They are a sister car to the Cadillac Allante
Ok I Learned something new.. But why did you fly off the handle? Don't really matter I think its funny.
