I'm pretty sure I posted this one a year or so ago, but that car had a bent front bumper. Maybe the same with some little stuff fixed, looks like a good car: https://spokane.craigslist.org/cto/d/colbert-1971-buick-gs-455/6794270797.html 1971 Buick GS 455 - $17500 (colbert) hide this posting image 1 of 6 © craigslist - Map data © OpenStreetMap little spokane drive at woolard (google map) 1971 Buick GS 455 VIN: 434371z114864 condition: excellent cylinders: 8 cylinders drive: rwd fuel: gas odometer: 95000 paint color: green size: full-size title status: clean transmission: automatic type: coupe Beautiful 1971 Buick GS 455. I wish he wouldnt have gone so in-depth with his description on the details of the car...... Pretty looking from the pics though.
Yeah, I wasn't sure. Just seemed kind of odd to have two of them so similar in Spokane. This one does look better, I remember that other one had a few issues like the bumper not fitting properly on the passenger side like I mentioned.
I think this one is a different one too. I seem to remember the other one had an unpainted hood molding as well. Either of you guys remember the dark green '71 that was for sale near Vancouver a couple years ago?
It has two items that need to be addressed and that is why I priced it lower.... Item one. The people that had it before me thought they might race it so they had the spider gears in the rear end welded together to give it true positraction. They never raced it. While the car is easily drivable with that rear end, I talked to Valley Transmission and they said it would be easy to replace those gears,,,, Item two.... Said people also took the engine side of the heater out to reduce weight... Easy part to find and replace....
That is a great looking car, Paul, and looks like a really good deal. Yes, removing and replacing spider gears in a rear diff is a pretty straight forward and easy job to do if everything goes right. Good luck with the sale, I wish I was looking because I'd most definitely be interested in this one.
Those are the '455' emblems Buick eventually reverted to when its own stock ran out and then published the Pontiac part number as the available replacement. At least it isn't the stylized other Pontiac '455' emblem which was kind of slanted and a little larger.
My friend had that exact combo - We took it to the Nationals a couple of times in the late '80's & he sold it in the early '90's. I just sent him the ad - Could be his old car. I know he wishes he hadn't sold it or at least had sold it to me - We were $500 apart & someone offered him more than I did.
I think it's a different car - I remember the other one being close to my friend's old car but not quite for some reason & this one is spot on.
