… you buy the same tool twice. I had a couple of gift cards from Christmas so I went to Home Depot and bought a couple of 18v tools. One of the tools was a 4 1/2" grinder, as I'm ripping the top of the box off I glance up and the same grinder is starring me in the face, same brand out of the box but never used. No BS I just can't remember buying the damn thing. Maybe it's a senior moment, I don't know.
I hate it when I spend 2 hours looking for some part I know I have then give up and buy it again....then find it when I wasn't looking for it....
Cant have too many grinders. Wire wheel, flap disk, grinding wheel, cutting disk. Changing sux. I have several. It is like 10mm sockets. Cant have too many.
Man I am glad to read stuff like this. I have done that too and feel pretty dumb. Saddest part is I am not sure I was any brighter when I was young.
X (infinity). This is TRULY a case of been there, done that (again). As was stated by Texas T, you can't have too many grinders. It REALLY helps having at least two, three is better. One with a cutoff wheel set-up, one with a Grinder wheel (Who'd ever thought of that use?), and another with a flapper wheel for touch-up and 'polishing' the ground or cut-off edges and surfaces.
...and the best part is, that we all are able to explain to our wifes with a straight face that we damn seriously need that thing to save the world
I like it when I’ve forgotten that I even had one, then came home with a new one only to find the one I already had. It’s kinda like Christmas...
Happens to me all the time. I now joke about it - when I can't find something I buy a new one just so I know that I'll find the one I already have. I'm looking for my pickaxe right now...
I think thats when you know your true destiny is to become a HOARDER!! Ohh noooo. I think im halfway there.
Someone needs to invent tools that come when called....I spent 3 days searching for my grease gun, was under my nose the whole time.
I'm currently the proud owner of 3 rivet guns. 2 missing and 1 less than a week old. This is just the latest example of this happening to me
Let's see. I have 2 led rechargeable work lights, 2 staplers, 3 17 mm 6 point sockets, 2 sets aviation snips, 2 sets of torq drivers, 4 x 10mm sockets, 6 pairs of vice grips And dozens of other tool "doubles" nope I never misplace my tools. Just found my favorite stapler yesterday in a box of wedding decorations. It has been mia since my daughters wedding in July and driving me nuts ever since. the lightbulb in my noodle just illuminated Sunday connecting the dots. Now I have two. The rechargeable work light was a similar story with a 6 month separation of going nuts then breaking down and buying a replacements. Found 3 rusty vice grips clamped under my home built trailer that held steel parts during welding. It never ends and gets worse with age. . .
I know I put it here on the shelf two months ago with the other one I could not find till I bought the new one. No one comes out to the shop but me and it's gone. Go buy what I need and six months later find it in the center console while looking for a pen. I know I did not put the 1/2"x 3/8" impact reducer in the center console under the napkins. I have always, always kept all my sockets and socket related tools on the third shelf of my tool cabinet for thirty plus years yet somehow it is in the console. Working in the attic running new com cables. Set the hammer down after tacking the staples to unroll the next cable. Hammer is nowhere to be found, just fanished. It's a conspiracy I tell ya... Mikey
