I got this setup from Bruno last year and shelved it when I decided to rebuild and use the Holley. Now that the Q-Jet is operational, I'd like to see if any members have used this choke on their same combo carb/intake combination. Preferably with pictures, if possible. I know the are other routes I could go in terms of chokes but I have these parts, so I'd like to use them. Thanks in advance!
All you have to do Brett is search. You can find anything Buick related on V8, http://www.v8buick.com/index.php?threads/edelbrock-performer-intake-manifold.248937/#post-2035862
I use that kind of set up on my 71 with a Performer and a 540 Q-Jet. I dont know the application of the choke and rod, but I had to take a snip out of the coil cover to account for the angle of the rod. I also had that set up on my 73 with a B4B, but when I went to an M4M Q-Jet I had to use an electric choke.
Thanks for the tips! Off the top of your head(s), is the screw hole in that pad actually existant or do I need to drill it out? Looks like an easy install, right??
on both my manifolds there is a threaded hole on the choke pad tolocate and mount the coil. On a Buick carb there ore two holes on the carb side choke actuating linkage marked ALT and STD, I use STD.. As far as the rest, use a shop manual to set the whole choke system up correctly, it all applies as if you were using a Buick coil.
How come nobody has the baffle that goes on top center 2 screws in middle of airhorn to keep the secondaries from pulling fuel over from the primarys?
